How was the GAMMS Final Event?
It was bold, brilliant and full of momentum, and yes, we’re sorry if you missed it.
On July 11, 2025, the GAMMS consortium convened in Barcelona to formally conclude years of collaborative research, development, and technical innovation. Held at the World Trade Center, the event brought together engineers, researchers, industry representatives, and institutional stakeholders working at the intersection of GNSS, autonomous mobility, geodesy, and artificial intelligence.
This gathering went beyond a simple closing ceremony, it served as a platform to present key results, engage in strategic discussions, and celebrate the scientific and technological achievements of the GAMMS project.
Event Highlights
- Two expert round tables addressed critical topics including:
- Current advances and future directions in GNSS-based autonomous navigation
- Market outlook, regulatory frameworks, and next steps for high-precision mobile mapping systems
- Technical presentations provided detailed insights into the GAMMS system architecture, showcasing sensor integration and the roles of AI and GNSS in precise localization.
- A poster session allowed each partner to highlight their specific contributions and fostered direct technical exchanges with attendees.
- Throughout the day, participants networked and reflected on future challenges during breaks, lunch, and the closing reception.
Our Esteemed Invited Speakers
The day began with a keynote by Carles Rua, Head of Innovation at the Port of Barcelona, sharing insights on innovation in port logistics and infrastructure. Followed by Ignasi Gómez-Belinchón, Director of IN-MOVE opening the session emphasing the importance of CCAM and specially PDI Innovation actions in focus towards a more sustainable, efficient and safe Mobility and specially Logistics. We were pleased to welcome several distinguished experts who joined us and shared their insights: Laia Pages, Andras Csepinszky, Jose Solis Hernandez, Eulalia Parès, Dariia Perunès, Marc Pelegris, Giel Mertens, Francisco Santarremigia, Aleix Bassolas.
Their contributions greatly enriched the discussions and helped frame the future of autonomous mobile mapping technologies.
